Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded
A resignation letter has one job: to state clearly that you are leaving and when. Everything else — the thanks, the reason, the handover offer — is optional and depends on how you want to leave. This generator handles the arithmetic of the notice period so the date you give is the date your contract actually requires, and keeps the wording professional whichever tone you choose.

Frequently asked questions
What should a resignation letter say?
Four things: that you are resigning, the position you are resigning from, your last working day, and an offer to help with the handover. Anything beyond that is a matter of taste. Keep it short — this is a document that goes on your file, not a farewell speech.
Do I have to give a reason for leaving?
No. There is no obligation to explain why, and a letter that says nothing about it is completely normal. If you are leaving on bad terms, saying so in writing rarely helps you: the letter outlives the feeling, and it is the version of events that stays on record. The reason field here is optional for exactly that reason.
How do I calculate my last working day?
Count your contractual notice period forward from the day you serve the letter. Two months is common for senior roles in India, thirty days for many others — check your appointment letter rather than assuming. This tool moves the last working day whenever you change the notice period, so the two can never contradict each other.
Should I email it or hand it over?
Both, usually: hand a signed copy to your manager and send the same text by email so there is a timestamp. The notice period runs from when the resignation is received, and an email is what proves when that was. Use the copy button to paste the letter into an email exactly as written.
Can I withdraw a resignation after submitting it?
Only if your employer agrees. Once accepted, a resignation generally cannot be unilaterally taken back, so treat submitting it as final rather than as an opening move in a negotiation.
