Frequently asked questions

Will my watermark look the same on the full-size image?

Yes. Sizes and margins here are percentages of the image rather than pixel counts, so a watermark dialled in on the preview lands identically on the full-resolution export. Tools that measure in screen pixels produce a stamp that is invisible on a 24-megapixel original — that is the usual failure and this avoids it.

Corner watermark or tiled?

A corner stamp is discreet and easy to crop off. A tiled diagonal pattern covers the subject itself, so removing it means reconstructing the picture underneath — which is why proofs, previews and confidential documents use it. Choose by whether you are crediting the image or protecting it.

Does a watermark actually stop people using my image?

It deters casual reuse and it survives a screenshot, which is more than metadata does. It is not protection: anything visible on a screen can be recaptured, and a tiled watermark simply makes the result unattractive enough that most people move on.

Can I watermark several images at once?

Not in this tool — it works on one image at a time so the placement can be checked against each picture. A stamp positioned well on a landscape often sits badly on a portrait.
