Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate hours between two times?
Convert both to minutes past midnight, subtract, and convert back. When the end is earlier than the start the shift crossed midnight, so add 24 hours — the tool assumes this rather than reporting an error.
What are decimal hours and why do they matter?
Time expressed as a decimal rather than hours and minutes: 7 hours 45 minutes is 7.75, not 7.45. Payroll systems work in decimals, and entering 7.45 instead of 7.75 quietly underpays by 18 minutes every time.
How do I total a week of shifts?
Use the duration list at the bottom — enter each day as hh:mm and it totals them, showing both the hours-and-minutes figure and the decimal for a timesheet.
