Frequently asked questions
What counts as a business day?
Any day the business is open — usually Monday to Friday excluding public holidays, but retail, banking and manufacturing all differ. Set the week yourself rather than assuming the default fits.
Are business days and working days the same thing?
The terms are used interchangeably. Both mean days excluding weekends and holidays, and this is the same calculation as the Working Days tool.
How do banks count business days for settlement?
Excluding weekends and gazetted bank holidays, which vary by state in India. A "T+2 settlement" means two business days after the trade, so a Thursday trade settles the following Monday.
