Frequently asked questions
How is attendance percentage calculated?
Classes attended divided by classes held, times 100. Note it is classes held, not classes scheduled โ a cancelled lecture is not counted against you.
How many classes can I miss and stay at 75%?
It depends on how many have been held. With 40 of 50 attended you are at 80% and can miss three more consecutively before dropping below 75%. The calculator works out the exact number for your position.
Why is recovering so much harder than falling?
Because every class you skip raises the denominator as well as leaving the numerator alone. Falling from 75% to 70% takes a handful of absences; climbing back can take dozens of consecutive attendances, since each one only moves the ratio slightly.
What if I am already below the requirement?
The tool shows the number of consecutive classes you must attend to get back. If that exceeds the classes remaining in the term, use the Required Attendance tool โ it will tell you whether the target is still reachable at all.
